Community Access Scholarships

Making room for those who are called to gather with us.

The Gullah Geechee Herbal Gathering is offering five Community Access Scholarships for our 2026 Gathering. These scholarships are for those who genuinely want to attend, but for whom the cost of registration presents a financial barrier.

Why This Matters

Throughout my own journey as an herbalist, I’ve had the opportunity to attend herbal conferences as a scholarship recipient. Those opportunities gave me access to teachers, knowledge, community, and experiences that helped shape my path. I know firsthand what it means when someone makes room for you.

The Community Access Scholarship is one way I can extend that same opportunity to someone else. The Gullah Geechee Herbal Gathering was created as a place to learn, connect, remember, and sit in community with those carrying traditional knowledge and healing practices forward.

​

Sometimes the only thing standing between someone and an experience that could deeply impact their journey is access.

This is our way of helping make that access possible.

What the Scholarship Includes

Each Community Access Scholarship Includes: 

  1. Full-weekend admission to the 2026 Gullah Geechee Herbal Gathering, October 2–4, 2026

  2. Access to workshops, ceremonies, community programming, and the African Marketplace

  3. Complimentary primitive camping on the property for those who choose to camp 

  4. ​

Please note: Transportation, lodging outside of the Gathering grounds, camping equipment, meals, and personal expenses are not included.

 

Applicants should only apply if the registration cost presents a genuine financial barrier to attending.
