A Gathering Ground for Black & Indigenous Herbalists, Healers, and the Herbally Curious

Our 2026 Theme:
The theme for 2026 calls us to listen, honor, and learn from the wisdom-keepers among us, our community elders : not just through stories, but through skills, practice, and shared time. Our elders aren’t just our conference speakers , they are the root system of the herbal movement, offering guidance in real time.

We’ll feature:
-
A special community altar ritual led by our Elders
-
Elder-led immersive workshops
-
Intergenerational dialogue sessions
-
A cultural honoring ceremony to uplift our living legends

But this is not an elder-only herbal conference. We are creating an ecosystem: students, practitioners, teachers, seekers, community folk — all growing and learning together. This is where we sit at our elders' feet and honor the roots that sustains us.

Why Attend?
The Gullah Geechee Herbal Gathering is more than a herbal conference, it is a sacred return. For one weekend during Gullah Geechee Heritage Month, we will honor the wisdom keepers of our communities and create space where their voices are uplifted and preserved. This is where Black and Indigenous herbalists, healers, and seekers gather to deepen their practice, reclaim ancestral traditions, and strengthen the cultural ties that bind us across the Diaspora. Attending means stepping into a circle of reverence, remembrance, and renewal — carrying forward the teachings of our elders for generations to come.
Why It’s Different
-
Black-led. Indigenous-rooted. Healing-centered.
-
We’re not giving TED Talks. We’re teaching real healing skills in open-air tents and sacred land.
-
Our community includes rural, urban, Southern, Caribbean, and diasporic wisdom.
-
Every voice matters. This gathering isn’t about performance — it’s about participation
