A herbal conference for Black and Indigenous Herbalists and Community
The Gullah Geechee Herbal Gathering
The Gullah Geechee Herbal Gathering is an annual Herbal conference for Black and Indigenous Herbalists and community organized and hosted by Khetnu Nefer, owner of A Soulful Touch Wellness. The goal of this conference ( not festival) is to elevate Black Herbalists, and provide a sacred space for Black and Indigenous healers, Herbalists, farmers, bodyworkers, HOODOO practitioners, and birthworkers from around the Diaspora to convene, celebrate and learn from individuals who looks like them and represents their communities.
Mission
The Gullah Geechee Herbal Gathering is committed to creating a welcoming and engaging, informative space to connect and empower our local Gullah Geechee herbalists and our Black and Indigenous healer community, featuring workshops of all levels of interest and experience taught by them.
The Gullah Geechee Herbal Gathering is intended to provide a sacred container for learning and fellowship for herbal enthusiasts, and the general community at large, to learn from each other, our wise teachers, and the plants themselves. We want attendees to get grounded in their herbal practice through education, fellowship, community and nature. This conference not only seeks to educate but to advocate for the conservation and preservation of the Gullah Geechee herbal culture, as well as herbal culture and traditions from around the Diaspora and the bioregional ecology as well.
