Earth, Wind & Fire: an incense making Gathering with Lucretia Lukaya
This workshop will explore the way incense brings together elements of earth, air and fire, as you connect with the metaphyiscal and medicinal qualities of aromatic herbs and resins. You will create your own blend and participate in group discussion and individual contemplation.

Cutting Sickle Cell with Yuma "Docta yew" Bellomee
This presentation will share insights about wholistic contributing factors to complications associated with sickle cell disease beyond genetics. Students will learn how shifts with lifestyle & food habits, and herbal medicine can serve as preventatives to help reduce the discomforts associated with sickle cell disease, and improve the overall quality of life.

Grow Your Own Superfood (Microgreens) with Marissa Brown
This workshop will provide attendees with hands on education and skills to grow the Superfood microgreens at home for family, friends and community. Students will leave with an understanding of what microgreens are, how to use and prepare them and the confidence to grow your favorite microgreens at home even in a small space.

Connect with the Earth: A Shamanic Journey with Empress Zella Taj Kan-Aset Xi
This will be a ceremony for participants to connect with the energy, the spirit of the nature spirits of the land. We will discuss our inherent relationship with the Earth, the medicine of our plant allies, and how everything holds spirit. Then we will curate a sacred space for a deep meditative shamanic journey using drumming to tap into the healing energies of the Earth and to explore meditation as medicine. As a practice for connecting with ourselves, the plants and nature spirits, and to cultivate inner peace and evoke powerful healing. The session will end with reflection and discussion.

Mental Health with Herbal Healing with Khet Waas Hutip
This workshop will provides waay to identify hormonal Imbalances and mineral deficiencies that may attribute to what we call mental health. They will leave with mental exercises to increase their mental well-being.

The 7 Chakras of Yin to Zen with Julian Desta
This workshop will awaken the 7 chakras (energy centers) within oneself through the practice of Yin Yoga. In Yin Yoga one holds the poses from anywhere of 1-5min. This practices access a deeper opening of the fascia to release energetic healing and release for the entire mind, body, spirit systems. The workshop will close with a Soundbath in which the practitioners will lay down and experience healing vibrations from various instruments from around the world(ie gongs, singing bowls, didgeridoo and more). Practitioners will receive a fully immersed experience connecting their minds and bodies to the inner and outer energy systems of nature the cosmos and within themselves.

Achieving Blood Sugar Bliss: Nutritional and Herbal Interventions with Angele Pressley
In this workshop, we will explore nutrition and plant medicine interventions for optimal blood glucose management. Diabetes disproportionately effects people of African descent in the US but we can counter this statistic through both traditional and modern approaches to healing. We will discuss accessible meal planning strategies, shopping tips and plant medicine supports. Attendees will gain knowledge on how best to manage or even reverse their diabetes or pre-diabetes.

Birthed of Clay & Returned to the Soil with Taylor Rae Tate
Through time and space, our bodies always remain connected to the earth; linked to the clay. In “Birthed of Clay and Returned to the Soil”, we explore our ancestral clay traditions as they exist through our relationships with food, ceremony, homemaking, protection, art, and more. This immersive workshop invites us to continue this exploration with the clay itself as we build impermanent vessels and pots that we eventually return to the land. In this meditation we connect to the earth through tapping into our senses while leaning into the cyclicality of nature.

Everyday as Ritual with Kennae Miller
Everyday as Ritual is a practice of ritualizing everyday with intention and connection to nature as self and mind, body and soul. Ancestor Malidoma Some shared, “…when the focus of everyday living displaces ritual in a given society, social decay begins to work from the inside out. The fading and disappearance of ritual in modern culture is, from the viewpoint of the Dagara, expressed in several ways: the weakening of links with the spirit world, and general alienation of people from themselves and others.” Every day as ritual is a practice of grounding our physical nature with the use of connection to the Earth, discussing the doshas found in Ayurveda, invoking the elements and moving through an embodied yoga practice. The practice is accessible for all skill levels including those needing to move from a chair and invites participants to either bring a yoga mat or mat with them OR practice barefoot in the grass.

Caribbean Herbal Medicine: Traditional Home Remedies for Wellness with Brandon Ruiz
In this workshop we will be discussing the backgrounds and tradition of Caribbean Herbal Medicine, how it was created by African and Indigenous knowledge and common home remedies that have been used for hundreds of years in the Caribbean. We will discuss in depth a handful of plants that we will taste and smell, and make a powerful wellness tonic, traditionally made in the Caribbean.

Reconnecting with Ancestral Intelligence: Flower Essences Elixirs For The Soul with Renee K. Smith
Flower essences are a form of vibrational medicine that has been used for thousands of years by cultures around the world. Indigenous healers from many traditions have understood the significance of the spiritual energies of flowers and plants. This workshop will provide participants with the basics on connecting to plant intelligence, how to use flower essences to assist with transformation, the creation of flower essence formulas using sacred geometry and a collective mother essence identified from a plant in season on the ancestral land hosting the conference.

Hoodoo Plant Medicine for Death and Grief with Victoria Snowden
This workshop will provide attendees with introductory history on Hoodoo and Plant Medicine in Black Death Culture. Students will leave with a toolkit of practices that can be utilized to support one's self and lineage in Death and Grief practices.
